Armand Ernest Miller, 93, died peacefully in his home in Cannon Falls, MN on 12/24/14.
Armand was born July 22, 1921, at home in Melville Township near Hector, MN. He grew up on a working family farm, which became his way of life. After graduating from Hector High School, he joined the Navy during WWII and spent time at the Connecticut Naval Base. In 1941 he married LaMona Williams and moved back to Hector where the couple raised their six children. Armand eventually moved his family to Remer, MN, where he started a working family farm.
Over the years, he was also employed on the Iron Range, in the Postal Service, in liquor sales and for the City of Cannon Falls. After the death of his first wife, LaMona, Armand married Luella Swanson in 1973. Armand liked to fish, hunt, garden, bowl and play cards. He had a good mind for numbers and math. Armand spent his retired summers in Remer, MN, Amery, WI, and Cannon Falls, MN.
As a snow bird, Armand wintered in Florida, Texas and Arizona, with the last few years in Minnesota.
He is survived by son Wayne Miller, daughter Judy (Miller) Robbins, and 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Armand Ernest Miller is preceded in death by his first wife LaMona (Williams) Miller, second wife, Luella (Swanson) Miller, son William E. Miller, daughter Ann Marie (Miller) Colgrove, daughter Melody E. (Miller) Berczyk, and by sisters, Mary Ann, Marcy, Lynette and Ardell.
Per Armand's request his body was donated to the University of Minnesota's Department of Medicine, to be cremated and returned to his family for final rest at the family plot in Remer, MN, on a date yet to be determined.
