Claire Conrad Leiding, 81, Ceylon, MN, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, near Ceylon as a result of an auto accident.
Among the survivors is a sister, LaVonne (Bonnie) Remme and her husband, Peter, Cannon Falls.
Claire was born Dec. 17, 1928 on the family farm near Ceylon, son of Conrad and Theresa Leiding. He married Gracie Rector on Sept. 10, 1952 and they made their home on a farm near Ceylon. He farmed, owned a bowling alley and later a lumber yard. In 2001 he and his son Doug began Leiding and Son Construction and were currently working together.
He was a member of the American Legion Post in Ceylon. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling, softball and cards.
Survivors include his wife, Gracie; daughter, Brenda (Carl) Wessel, St. Louis, MO; son, Doug and fiancée Michelle, Ceylon; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother; one sister-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wilbert, MN. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
