Roger Joseph Pollok, 73, died suddenly at his home, Idle Acres, on Friday, July 10, 2009.
Rog was born in Browerville, MN, on June 2, 1936, the son of Joe and Irene (Ostrowski) Pollok. He graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul, MN in 1954. He was trained as a master plumber and spent his career with Harris Mechanical for more than 30 years. He married Julie Rogers in 1958. In 1969, their family moved to a hobby farm in Cannon Falls, where they enjoyed farming the land, harvesting the orchard and raising animals. Julie now resides in Georgia.
Rog was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Miesville Lion's Club, and the Plumbers Local 34. He worked hard, but also enjoyed life; spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends, working on the farm, tinkering in his shop, fishing, hunting, playing cards and cribbage, making Krupnok and pickles, and sharing a cold draft. He was quite the kidder and flirt, and would often say "I only tease the pretty ones!"
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his six children, Elizabeth (Thomas) Lorentz of Cannon Falls, Joseph (Veronica) Pollok of McDonough, GA, James Pollok of Rosemont, Mary Carpenter of Erie, CO, Lori (Peter) Woods of Novi, MI, John Pollok of Santa Clarita, CA; special love Kay Flynn and her family; 11 grandchildren: Andrew Lorentz, Katherine Lorentz, Korey Pollok, Kelcy Pollok, Thomas Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, Madison Pollok, Noah Woods, Nathan Woods, Joseph Pollok II, Jacqueline Pollok; sister Jerrice (Dennis) Barrett of West St. Paul; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at St. Pius V Catholic Church. A burial service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10 a.m.
Memorials are preferred to the Miesville Lion's Club or Rog's "No Pit" Fund.
Arrangements by Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
