The Randolph-Hampton Fire District hosted its 6th annual "Breakfast with Santa" at the Hampton City Hall/Fire Station 2 in Hampton on Sunday.
Approximately 425 people ate breakfast, which consisted of pancakes made fresh by the firemen, sausage, syrup, milk water and coffee. Proceeds went to support the Randolph-Hampton Fire District Relief Association. The Randolph Cub and Girl Scouts were on hand to help clear the tables, and the wives of the firemen had a craft table where kids could color and make a Christmas project.
According to Chairperson Chris Opelt, "On behalf of the Fire District, I'd like to thank everyone who braved the weather and attended the breakfast. Attendance was down a bit from years past, but exceeded our expectations considering the road conditions. We started this event six years ago, not knowing that it would turn into the small-town tradition it has become! People in our community look forward to this event every year. Special thanks also to the Hampton Hills tree farm for donating the Christmas tree. Mark your calendar for next year's event, which be on Sunday, December 1, 2019."
