11/10/2017 11:08:00 AM Public invited to Thanksgiving meal
The public is invited to a Community Thanksgiving Dinner, sponsored by Shepherd's Center of the Cannon Valley, on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, in the lower level of St. Pius Church.
All ages are welcome to attend this special event, and serving will take place between 11:15 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Reservations are not required, but if anyone would like to RSVP, please call Shepherd's Center at 507-263-2136.
This event provides a Thanksgiving meal without charge to those attending (although donations are welcome). It also provides a chance for others to reach out in thankfulness by volunteering their time.
If family or friends would like to work together, they can coordinate the shifts by contacting Shepherd's Center. Currently volunteers are needed on Wednesday, November 22, and Thursday, November 23. There are various shifts available, and those interested in volunteering are asked to call Shepherd's Center at 507-263-2136.
For those who need transportation or meals delivered on Thanksgiving, please call Shepherd's Center on or before Monday, November 20, by 3:00 p.m.
Besides volunteers, monetary donations to help cover grocery and accompanying costs are needed. These donations are being collected only at Shepherd's Center and may be dropped off or mailed to Shepherd's Center at 120 W. State Street. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
