Wilfred LeRoy Callstrom, 97, Lenexa, KS, died at Lakeview Village Care Center on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Wilfred was born June 12, 1917 to Claus and Carrie Callstrom in White Rock. He was an accountant for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years, a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 21, Independence, MO. He was also a longtime member of Ruskin Heights Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ilene Callstrom; children and their spouses, Sherbette Bermel (Gilbert), Joyce Robison (Ken), Linda Adams (Jay), Randy Callstrom (Beth); grandchildren, John Rackliffe, Joshua Rackliffe, Jodi Nielson, Tasha Perry, Alexa Milus, Eric Adams, Rachel Wassall, Corrie Lawson, Kyle Adams, Nick Adams, Brenton Adams, Dane Callstrom, Rebecca Callstrom; 21 great grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Berg.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl, Walter, Vincent, Morris and Milton Callstrom; sister, Lillie Schultz; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 23 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, City. MO. Interment with military honors followed in Green Lawn Cemetery.
