Ruth Ann Kauffman, 95, Forest Lake and formerly of Hampton, died Monday, March 11, 2013, after a courageous battle with old age.
Ruth Ann was born and raised in Northfield, MN. She was a full time homemaker and resided for many years with her family on the Kauffman family farm near Hampton. While she was unable to attend college, she was as intelligent and astute as any graduate. She had a desire for knowledge and love of reading that she passed on to each of her children.
She also possessed a sense of humor that could be wry or silly or even slightly bawdy, and she had an unexpected affinity for penny ante poker. A sort of rural renaissance woman.
A special thanks to all who looked after her at Birchwood Healthcare Center in Forest Lake, MN., for their kindness and care.
She is survived by her children Molly, Jay (Juanita) and Alan (Sara); and grandchildren Jacob, Aaron and Jason.
Waiting for her on the other side is her beloved and loving husband of 60 years, Harold. Also there to greet her are parents Jay and Mattie Davison, whom she always spoke of with genuine deep love and respect.
As the youngest of nine children, she will also be reunited with her siblings Beth, Marion, May Lorraine, Peggy, Jeanette, Don, Bob and Pete.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at Christ United Methodist Church, Cannon Falls, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
Memorials preferred to Christ United Methodist Church, www.christumchurch.net.
