Dorothy Bernice Lindahl, 93, Cannon Falls, died Sunday evening, March 3, 2013, at her home at Twin Rivers Senior Campus.
Dorothy was born November 4, 1919 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Naomi Adelia (Eckloff) Lindahl and Oscar Albert Lindahl. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1937, and went on to Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1941.
She worked as a nurse in California for a time, returning to Minnesota to work the majority of her years in nursing at Bethesda Hospital. Upon retiring, she returned to Cannon Falls to care for her elderly mother. She also was employed at Kid Duds in Cannon Falls.
Dorothy was an active member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where she was involved with the LCW and Bible study. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially with sister-in-law, Marian Lindahl. She also enjoyed writing to many of her out of town friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three infant siblings; and brothers, Gordon, Morris and Kenneth Lindahl.
She will be missed by her nieces, nephews and their families, and special friends, Glen and Chris Pofahl.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gary Schulz officiating. Interment followed at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Gary Lindahl, John Korth, Glen Pofahl, Lyle Noble, Larry Nelson and Brian Lundell.
Memorials are preferred to St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice of Rochester.
