The Cannon Falls-Randolph wrestling team opened its season Saturday at the Edina Invitational, and came home with three champions.
Junior Erwin Strelow was champion at 113 pounds. He pinned Nash Nelson of Lake City at 4:47, Thomas DeBoer of Spectrum at 1:06, and Dusty Wilke of Grand Rapids at 1:37 in the title match.
Sophomore Cooper Peterson took top honors at 120 pounds. He pinned Jack Merriam of Edina at 1:35, Sam Bute of St. Thomas Academy at 2:00, and beat Joey Kozlowski of Lake City 7-0 in the championship match.
Senior Hayden Strain took the title at 182 pounds. He received a bye, then pinned Riley O'Neill of Blake at 1:24. He pinned Erik Snook of St. Croix Lutheran at 4:43 in the title match.
Levi Anderson at 126 did not place. He lost to Josh Holm of Grand Rapids and Adam DeVine of Spectrum.
Sam Ludden at 132 did not place. He lost to Connor Soppeland of Farmington and Logan Schumacher of Spectrum.
Chris Modrak took third at 138. He received a bye, then lost to Austin Hamel of Farmington before beating Tim Hollom of Grand Rapids 15-6 in the third place match.
Peter Fitterer was second at 145. He beat Parker Venz of Farmington 12--2 and Xavier Judge of Blake 8-3 before losing to Kellen Schauer of Grand Rapids in the title match.
Charlie Otterness did not place. He lost to Reese Averbeck of Blake and Joe Janes of Blake.
Dylan Rohr was second at 160. He received a bye, then beat Zac Janz of Farmington 8-2 before losing in the title match to Isaac Grams of Blake.
Ryan Linde was fourth at 220. He received a bye, then lost to Toby Lopez of St. Thomas Academy and Will Davis of Edina.
Farmington won the meet with 151.5 points. Cannon Falls was third with 139 points.
The Bombers are at Goodhue for a triangular Thursday, then have their first home match on Tuesday, December 12, against Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
