Matt Moskal was meet medalist in three out of the last four golf events he's played in, helping the CFHS boys to some of their best scores ever.
Moskal shot a 77 at an HVL meet Monday, three strokes ahead of teammate Jackson Bahr. Jonah Callister shot 85, Dalton Tanner 89, Cole Zimmerman 93 and Addison Bahr 96. The Bombers won the triangular with 331 strokes, ahead of Kasson with 340 and Kenyon with 452.
"That's one of the best if not the best score the boys have had," commented coach Doug Rechtzigel. "Jackson had a great round. I think we're peaking at the right time."
The boys were at Blooming Prairie on Saturday, competing against seven other teams. Cannon placed second with 333.
Moskal shot 76, Jackson Bahr shot 81 and Callister 85 to finish with medals. Tanner added 88, Addison Bahr 92 and Zimmerman 100.
"The boys played well," Rechtizgel said. "United South Central was first, but we improved our score by nearly 50 strokes as compared to last year."
Moskal was again medalist at Soldier's Field in Rochester, in a meet hosted by Lourdes. He shot a 78, Callister shot 83, Addison and Jackson Bahr 91, Tanner 95 and Zimmerman 100. The Bombers were second as a team.
May 5 found the squad at Somerby in Byron, with Moskal's 79 again putting him at the top. Addison Bahr shot 85, Callister 86, Cole Hanson 98, Jackson Bahr 102 and Kam Holst 103. The Bombers were second.
The conference tournament is set for Friday, May 16, at Mount Frontenac Golf Course. The Bombers host a meet on Monday, May 19.
