The RHS boys basketball opened up the season at home, on its new floor, with a 61-51 win over Glenville-Emmons.
Randolph started the game pressuring G-E full-court, forcing turnovers; unfortunately, they were committing turnovers themselves, but still were ahead at the half, 25-23. They slowly broke away in the second half.
"We did a good job of creating chaos, which results in takeaways," coach Tony Linbo said. "We struggled at the free throw line, making 8-22 for the game, but I thought we did a better job of attacking the boards in the second half. We protected the ball, which helped us get good, makeable shots."
Kyle Volkert led with 22 points, Eric Otte had 13, Drew Weidner 11, Austin Moorhouse, Drake Speight and Jackson Neil four each, and Hunter Ehlers three.
The Rockets hosted St. Clair Tuesday. They are at Blooming Prairie on Friday, and go to Triton on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
