The CFHS boys soccer team made history Tuesday, Sept. 10, winning its first-ever game, 6-0 over Schaeffer Academy.
Scoring for the Bombers were Beau Rueger, two goals; and John Carpenter, Dalton Tanner, Jonah Callister and Cooper Rohloff, one goal each. Zach Dockter had 10 shots on goal, Gunnar Gates six, Peter Hoffman two and Max Rueger one.
Goalie Levi Prestegard made six saves. "We had lots of subs, and that kept the guys fresh," commented coach Adam Rueger.
The Bombers lost to Kasson 5-3 in overtime Thursday, after holding a lead with less than five minutes to go.
"It was the best game I've seen them play to date," coach Rueger said. "It felt like a win, they played so hard."
Gates had two goals, and Max Rueger added one.
Cannon's final regularly scheduled game is set for Thursday, Oct. 3, at Pine Island.
