The Cannon Falls VFW baseball team ended its regular season with two games against Rochester teams, winning one and losing one.
The season finale was a 3-2 loss to Rochester Century, in what coach Bucky Lindow said was a great game.
"We had at least three times where we had runners in scoring position and we crushed the ball, but they turned into line-drive outs, or great defensive plays by Century," he said. "I liked the emotion and passion our boys played with."
Quinton Lindow went all seven innings, striking out four. Carter Dombeck had two hits, and Nick Lorentz, Lindow and Nathan Melhouse all had one hit each. Lorentz had a triple.
Dombeck got a complete-game win aganst the Rochester Knights, a team comprised mainly of players from Lourdes. He struck out six, walked three and gave up four hits.
Lindow, Jonathan Sharot, Dombeck, Melhouse, Jason Traynor, Braden Hartl and Tanner Carlson had one hit each; Traynor, Melhouse and Sharot had doubles.
Cannon Falls finished the regular season with a 12-8 record, and they were 9-5 in league play. They will play in the division tournament this weekend.
