The Randolph Railcats played three games this past week.
On Wednesday, the Cats traveled to Lake City, losing 13-3. Randolph had a 3-2 lead until the 6th when Lake City broke open the game with a 5-run inning, scoring all five runs on two outs.
Derrick Otte started on the mound and threw six innings. He allowed nine runs on nine hits. Sean Serres pitched in relief, allowing four runs on two hits.
Otte led the offense with two hits, including a 2-run double. Ty Vincent had two hits, and Paul Weidner and Ethan Kuehn also had hits.
On Friday night, the Railcats lost to Miesville, 13-1. Miesville scored five runs in the 7th inning to end the game early.
Scott Otte started for the Cats, going six innings. He allowed eight runs off eight hits and was also hurt by six walks. Trevor Otte threw the 7th inning and allowed five runs on four hits while striking out one.
Kuehn led the offense with two hits including a double. TJ Nordling had a hit and RBI, and Scott Otte, Dillion Sellner and Vincent each had a hit.
On Sunday the Railcats hosted Lake City, once again coming out on the losing end, 8-1. Phil Otto pitched into the 6th inning. He allowed seven runs, six earned, on 11 hits, all singles while striking out three. Serres pitched 2.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits. Xavier Kopp threw a scoreless 9th.
The Railcats had six hits. Scott Otte had two hits including a double. Weidner, Kuehn, Otto and Trevor Otte each had hits.
The busy schedule continues this week. The Railcats traveled to Dundas Tuesday night and then to Hager City, WI, Friday night. The Railcats host Dundas on Sunday. CCVL class "C" playoffs start Tuesday July 23 in Cannon Falls. Randolph will be playing Tuesday and Wednesday 24th at 8 p.m. in Cannon Falls.
