The Cannon Falls Bears are back to their winning ways, knocking off Hastings and Dundas last week.
Andy Otto got the win against Hastings July 10. He struck out eight and scattered seven hits in an 8-3 win. Jared Woodward pitched the final two innings.
Keith Meyers was 1-3 with an RBI, Nate Otto 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Brandon Voth one hit and an RBI, Taylor Pagel one hit and three RBI, Josh Harrison 1-5, Cory Hedeen 1-2 with an RBI, Jamie Stay 1-3 and Zeke Williams 1-4.
Sunday found the Bears battling the Dukes from Dundas, and despite an off-par performance from ace pitcher Meyers, came away with a 7-5 win.
Meyers gave up 11 hits and five earned runs over five innings. Hedeen earned a save with four shut-out innings of relief.
Veteran Rich Burr had an outstanding day at the plate, going 4-5 with three RBI. Luke Winchell was 2-5 with an RBI, Nate Otto 2-5 with a double, Voth 1-3, Pagel 1-5 with an RBI, and Harrison 3-5.
The Bears have only four regular season games remaining. They host Prescott Wednesday, Lake City Thursday and Veseli Friday, before going to Northfield on Sunday, July 21.
