The Cannon Falls VFW baseball team hosted Kasson Saturday, winning two games.
Cannon won a league game 4-0 to start the day, and turned two double plays in the process.
Nick Lorentz had two hits, and Carter Dombeck, Garrett Beach, Nathan Melhouse and Braden Hartl had one hit each. Dombeck had two RBI.
"We played very well," coach Bucky Lindow said. "It was a fun game! Pitcher Quinton Lindow threw strikes and the boys made plays behind him. Dombeck started both double plays, one a 6-4-3 play and the other snaring a line drive and doubling off a runner at 1st.
Game two was marred by walks, with pitchers from both teams combining to give up 23 free passes.
Cannon had five hits, one each from Lorentz, Lindow, Dombeck, Jason Traynor and Michael Quinn. Six different players saw pitching action.
The team is now 10-7 overall, and 8-4 in the league. They have two regular season games remaining, Tuesday, July 9 against the Rochester Knights and Wednesday, July 10, against Rochester Century. The division tournament is Saturday, July 20.
