The Randolph Railcats had a tough go of it last week, losing two and having another lost to rain.
On Wednesday, Randolph lost to Northfield 13-2. Northfield held a 3-2 lead heading into the 5th, then scored seven runs.
Northfield had 19 hits, but all but two were singles. Derrick Otte started and went the first five innings, and was charged with 10 runs, all earned, on 16 hits. Xavier Kopp threw an inning of relief, allowing three runs. Randolph had only two hits, singles by Otte and Dillion Sellner.
Friday found the 'Cats at Belle Plaine, only to see the game washed out by threatening storms after two scoreless innings.
Sunday brought more bad news for the Railcats, as they lost to Red Wing 18-2. Red Wing had an 8-run 2nd inning and never looked back.
Sean Serres started and lasted three innings, giving up 13 runs, eight of which were earned. Phil Otto and Sellner pitched in relief. TJ Nordling went 2-2 with a double and RBI, Ethan Kuehn had a double and RBI, and Jim Harding and Sellner each had hits.
The Railcats travel to Miesville Friday night for an 8 p.m. game. After taking the weekend off, they will play the Cannon Falls Bears in Cannon Falls on Thursday, July 4, at 2 p.m.
