The Cannon Falls American Legion baseball team picked up wins two and three on the young season, beating Pine Island 3-1 Thursday and Goodhue 5-0 Monday.
Noah Callister went seven innings Thursday, striking out nine and walking two.
Cannon scored single runs in the 1st, 5th and 6th innings. Paul Rolfes singled and scored on a wild pitch in the 1st, and reached on an error and scored on a double by Ian Althoff in the 5th. Althoff doubled in the 6th, scoring on a wild pitch.
Levi Prestegard tossed a no-hitter against Goodhue Monday, striking out 12. He only faced 23 batters in seven innings.
Callister drove in two runs in the 1st with a double, and Tanner Jackson had one RBI with a single. Tyler Wilson drove Rolfes in with a single in the 2nd, and a single by Althoff in the 5th scored Hunter Blakeslee.
Rolfes, Callister and Austin Jacobs all had two hits.
"Prestegard was the story here," coach Bob Brintnall said. "He kept getting stronger as the game went on, and had a nasty curve. We get very few no-hitters, so his teammates really wanted it for him.
"We really pounded the ball," he continued. "As a team, the whole roster played and made contributions. Our pitching in the first three games has been outstanding."
The local squad is host to Randolph on Thursday. A game scheduled against Giant Valley (Minnehaha Academy) has been postponed until Tuesday, July 2. The squad goes to Jordan on Monday, June 17.
