5/16/2013 RHS softball gets seven wins in seven games

The Randolph High School softball team ended its action-packed week by winning all seven games to run their over-all record to 10-2 and 7-1 in the Gopher Conference to lead the North Division.
The team opened the streak with a solid effort with a defeat of NRHEG. The Rockets pounded out 14 hits with Abby Meyer leading the way with four. Carolyn Meyer picked up the win striking out six and walking two.
The Rockets hosted the Medford Tigers and came away with a 16-5 five-inning game victory. Once again Abby Meyer led the way with three hits; five other Rockets had two apiece. Allyssa Sanford had four RBI and Ashleigh Dralle three. Kelsie Jo Endres picked up the win striking out six.
On Friday the Rockets traveled to Fairbault Academies and came away with a 10-3 win. The Rockets pounded out 18 hits with Karly Friedges, Kelsey Wall, Ashleigh Dralle and Endres all collecting three each. Dralle also had 3 RBI. Carolyn Meyer pitched the win striking out seven.
Saturday found the Rockets hosting West Lutheran and picking up two wins, each in five innings, 15-4 and 14-2. Endres and Meyer each collected a win on the mound.
The Rockets ended their busy week with a doubleheader win at WEM with a first game 6-3 victory and a nightcap 7-5 win.
Carolyn Meyer picked up the first game win and also hit a two run homerun as the Rockets collected 11 hits. In the second game Endres was the winning pitcher as the Rockets pulled away with a five-run fourth inning.
"We are playing very good right now. Our defense is playing solid and we are getting good swings at the plate. Couple those with solid pitching, and we are tough to beat at this point," coach Mike Silk said. "Our lineup has really settled in since getting outside and right now we just have to play through this multi game stretch."
The Rockets traveled to Medford on Tuesday, hosted the Faribault Academies on Wednesday, host Blooming Prairie on Thursday, and finish the regular season at Red Wing on Friday. Section 1A seeding with be released on Wednesday and section play begins next Monday.
