The RHS softball team dropped both games they played last week, losing 3-0 in a conference game to Blooming Prairie and an 11-7 non-conference tilt to Minnehaha Academy.
A swinging bunt with two outs opened the games for three BP runs in the bottom of the 6th Thursday, breaking out a tight game.
Randolph managed only two hits, a single by Karly Friedges and a double by Kelsey Wall. Carolyn Meyer took the tough loss for the Rockets.
A lack of timely hitting and three errors led to the 11-7 loss to Minnehaha. The Rockets were outhit 15-8; Wall had two hits, including a 2-RBI triple, and Josie Fields had a hit and two RBI. Kelsie Jo Endres was saddled with the loss.
"We definitely have to hit ball a lot better," said coach Mike Silk. "Thursday we played lights-out defense, but Friday's effort left a lot to be desired. Our lack of outside work was evident."
The Rockets were at Goodhue Tuesday. They go to Cleveland Wednesday, host Janesville Thursday, are at Kenyon-Wanamingo Friday, and have a make-up doubleheader Monday, May 6, at Waterville.
