The CFHS girls basketball team played well enough to win Friday night, but dismal shooting proved too much to overcome in a 52-43 loss to Triton.
Cannon out-played the Cobras in many areas, but shooting wasn't one of them. The Bombers shot 30% from the field and made only eight of 22 free throws.
"A few too many unforced errors at the wrong times and we lost a game we could have won," coach Eric Mace said. "The effort is there, we just need to execute better."
Junior Courtney Woodcock had a nice game, with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Katie Noble added nine points, Tayler Banitt had seven points and four assists, Maggie Rutter nine rebounds and Grace Rutter seven rebounds.
The squad was at home against Goodhue Tuesday. They entertain Zumbrota on Friday, go to Kenyon Tuesday, and wrap up the regular season at home against Plainview on Thursday, Feb. 14.
