by Mike Dalton
The Randolph Rockets boys basketball team went on the road Saturday to Bethany Academy, and in a good basketball game between two evenly matched teams, lost 65 had 63.
The first half was a tight contest with back and forth scoring but the Rockets found themselves down at half 30 to 25. The second half was more of the same back and forth scoring but the Rockets were down most of the second half.
"We went on some runs but they countered," said coach Tony Linbo. "We were never able to get over that hump."
Despite this the Rockets kept battling and had an opportunity to tie it or win it with one last possession and down two. "We came up a little short which isn't fun when you work that hard for that chance to win it. The Rockets played a great game. We showed we can play, and play together."
Jake Dubbels had 25 points, Alex McKay had 12, Keagan Nitz had five, Austin Moorhouse three, Chris Feidt 15, and Volkert had two.
Randolph hosted LeRoy-Ostrander Tuesday. They are at United South Central Friday, then home against Faribault BA on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
