The CFHS boys basketball started the 2012-13 season in a 10-0 hole, falling behind Ellsworth Friday night before battling back for a halftime tie. Poor shooting throughout the game led to a 55-47 loss.
Cannon shot 20 for 66 from the field, and were only three of 15 from the free throw line. "We had good looks most of the night, we just rushed and shot too early in the offense. Because of that, we didn't do a very good job of forcing Ellsworth to play defense," coach Josh Davission said.
Senior Tanner Jackson led the team with 14 points, and junior Jordan Lundell added nine.
Cannon is next at the Maple River Hardwood Classic, facing host Maple River at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. They play again Saturday at either 5:15 p.m. or 7 p.m. Hayfield and Litchfield are also participating; Litchfield is currently ranked #1 in the state in class "AA."
