The RHS volleyball team traveled to Faribault Monday, Oct. 2, to face Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, and came home with a 3-game win. Scores were 25-16, 25-17, 25-11.
Madi Taylor led with eight assists, and Sami Bey with seven kills.
"A great confidence booster for the girls; they came together and played three solid games to get a needed win," commented coach Lee Moen.
Thursday the Rockets traveled to Medford to face a fired-up Tiger squad, and fell in three games. Scores were 15-25, 14-25, 11-25. "Medford is playing very tough at the moment, and our girls just couldn't get any momentum going to make a run at them," Moen said.
Breanna Wille and Taylor each had five assists, and Taylor Bickman had five kills.
Randolph was at the St. Clair Invitational Saturday, where they faced some unfamiliar but very tough foes.
The Rockets split with Mountain Lake (25-13, 21-25) in their first pool play match, then lost to Truman (21-25, 20-25) and St. Clair (19-25, 18-25). They were beaten by Mankato Loyola in the first round of consolation play.
RHS has a big upcoming week. They hosted Dover-Eyota Tuesday, then entertain United South Central in their Dig Pink match Thursday before finishing the regular season at Faribault BA on Monday, Oct. 15.
