Cannon Falls Township reviewed plans for taking over a privately owned and maintained portion of 115th Ave. Way at its December 18 meeting.
It looks like the area residents will have to do winter maintenance on their own again this year as the Township will want to see the road in the Spring to review its condition before formally taking over the road.
Township supervisors said a plan to provide room for a bus turnaround appeared like it should work, but will also want to review that completed work and make sure all utilities are in a safe location.
Taking over 320th St. Way is also on hold as residents along the Way are looking to find a cheaper bid for road work the Township wants done before it takes it over,
The Township approved the annexation plan of the DeGarmo parcel on the west side of Hwy. 52 by the city of Cannon Falls. The city will send the township $50.15 for lost tax revenue on the undeveloped six acres. The parcel is by a new roundabout, new backage road, and the new County 24.
Filing for March Township election is from December 31, 2013 to January 14, 2014. Supervisor Ray Otto and clerk Sue Safe positions are up for election.
