The Dakota County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution to appraise and negotiate with Timothy Pommerening to acquire about 1.5 acres of land and buildings off of Dakota County 83 (Dixie Avenue) in Randolph Township.
The property would be incorporated into the far west end of the Lake Byllesby Regional Park.
The parcel is south of the city of Randolph. The road deadends near the property, just north of the Cannon River.
Dakota County already owns other land in the area as part of the Park.
The parcel is woodlands, grasslands and a small mobile home. Pommerening has indicated that he is agreeable to selling to the County for Park uses, according to the County report.
Assessed value of the property is $71,700. Met Council Acquisition funds may be available for up to 75 percent of the purchase, but the County may have to wait until a future fiscal period to be reimbursed.
