The Randolph City Council held a brief meeting on September 11.
Two employees from KLM Engineering reported on the status of the local water tower, which they recently inspected. According to the employees, the circulation pump was nonfunctional and difficult to replace as the original manufacturer has gone out of business.
The KLM employees presented two options to replacing the water pump, the chief discrepancy being the price quotes. The council hoped to decide on an option after the meeting. Without proper circulation there is the possibility of the tower leaking, and freezing in the winter.
The Red Diamond Bar was appointed as the official bar for the annual Randolph/Hampton Chicken BBQ.
A $500 donation was made to the public park.
The speed bump installed in town near the softball field has been functioning well. "You hit it once at 30 mph, you won't hit it twice at 30 mph," a local resident chimed in.
The council unanimously approved three prebuilt towers to store grain for River Country.
The Sheriff's Department proposed a dog ordinance in which a fee of $65 will be incurred for investigation beyond their patrol route and a $40 for a court appearance. The council tabled the proposal.
