The New Trier City Council unanimously approved Bill's Blacktop for the city's pothole repairs.
Council member Michelle McCarty informed the council that the quote came in at $500 to fix all the potholes on city streets.
The date for the repairs has not been scheduled yet.
Residents will continue to be required to register their dogs and cats every two years. The council did discuss changing the licensing to every year, but agreed bi-annual registration would be best.
The council will talk more about the license procedure at next month's meeting.
Planning Commission letters
The city council approved three example applications that the planning commission drafted for any requests requiring city approval, such as zoning and building permits.
Mayor Melanie Peters explained that when a resident submits an application, the city has 60 days to act upon it. One of the approved applications was for extending the 60-day timeline and the second one was for restarting the timeline, which will stop the clock from running if the application is not complete.
The third drafted letter was a waiver letter that residents can submit stating they are fine with extending the time period and waiving their right to the 60-day rule. Council member Dorine Geurts added that the resident is required to insert a date when they want that application acted upon, but it can't be sooner than the 60 days.
