7/13/2017 11:20:00 AM FD street dance is Saturday, July 29
The Cannon Falls Fire Department's annual street dance will be held Saturday night, July 29, rain or shine.
Providing entertainment will be the band Hitchville. They will be playing live music from 8:30 p.m. to midnight on the street in front of the fire hall, which is located downtown on Hoffman Street.
Gates will open at 6 p.m., and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Admission to the dance is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets will be sold at the door. Please note that paid admission does not include dinner.
The dance is the department's only large fundraiser of the year, and is held to raise money for non-budget items. Anyone who donates prior to the dance will be on a guest list at the gate.
The department will be celebrating its 125th anniversary earlier in the day, with an open house at the fire hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activities will include bounce houses for the kids, a rock climbing wall, dunk tank with local celebrities, face painting, a live DJ, and equipment demonstrations including vehicle extrication and rope repelling.
There will also be a display of local firefighting history at the hall, along with more items to see at the Cannon Falls Museum. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
