Cannon Falls elementary school principal Derek Bell reported at the April 10 school board meeting that the kindergarten round-up was pretty well attended.
Bell says they have registered 51 students out of a possible 71 students they know about for the 2017-18 school year.
He says the numbers are a little less than average, but that it is still early in the process. The goal is to register between 75-80 students, said Bell. Registrations usually change all the way into the first week of school.
This year's class is at about 82 students. Number of students per grade range from 82 to 102 in Cannon Falls,
Bell also reported that the middle school and elementary school were both awarded part-time Math Corps tutors for the next school year. They will work with students in grades 4-8. If anyone is interested in becoming a Math Corps tutor, contact Bell.
Volunteers installed new playground equipment at the school the previous weekend.
