8/29/2014 11:38:00 AM New displays at Cannon Falls military history museum
A child's military uniform from WWII is featured along with those from local soldiers at Vince Cockriel's Cannon Falls Military History Museum at 33504 Warsaw Trail, about two and a half miles west of Highway 52 off County 24 Blvd.
These tiny replicas meant that even children at home could pretend they were soldiers along with their daddies or uncles while wearing a child-sized WWII uniform like the one pictured.
Admission to the museum is free. It's open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Labor Day Weekend (Sat-Sun-Mon) and Veterans Day (Sat-Sun-Mon). Or by appointment 507-263-3698 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Local soldiers featured are Bill Daniels, John Burch, Melvin Eckstrom, Donald Richardson, Robert Anderson, Randall Hughes, Edgar Olson, Loren Steenblock, Dorothy Daniels, Richard Dierke, Arthur G. Malon, Robert Midness, Arnold Sibbers and John G. Pasch.
After the last opening on Veterans Day, the WWII display will be taken down to make room for next years' feature of Korea, Vietnam and Gulf War memorabilia.
