8/29/2014 11:37:00 AM Two are dead in Belle Creek crash
On Thursday, August 21, at 7:52 p.m. the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of County Roads 9 and 7 in Belle Creek Township. Jessica Braun, 34, Rochester was southbound on County Road 7 in a Ford Focus when she failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a Chevy Traverse that was eastbound on County Road 9 driven by Linda O'Connor, 58, rural Goodhue. Both vehicles ended up in an adjacent field.
Two passengers in the Braun vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene: Blanka Burt, 50, Utica; and Rosa Alvarez, 51, Mexico. Linda O'Connor and her passenger, Kathleen Gadient, 81, rural Goodhue had possible injuries but were not transported from the scene. Braun and another passenger in her vehicle; Celia Alvarez, 82, Utica, were transported via ambulance to St. Marys in Rochester.
Goodhue County was assisted at the scene by the Goodhue First Responders and Fire Department, Zumbrota Ambulance, Red Wing Ambulance, Mayo One, and the State Patrol.
