Hampton Community Days well-attended

A beautiful Friday evening, June 20 kicked off Hampton Community Days with the Movie in the Park. The Lego Movie drew a large crowd of kids of all ages.

Saturday morning, the Bike Safety training held by the Dakota County Sheriff's Office was fun and kids learned an important message while taking a ride with the experts.

In the park, there were bouncy houses for all ages, as well as face painting, nail polishing and the hand massages, a huge hit-all for a good cause.

Local businesses also were encouraged to come out and introduce themselves. Four Seasons Cooling and Heating set up a booth and answered questions.

The Teddy Bear Band performed and encouraged the kids to dance and sing along to their live music.

To round off the day, the Hampton Cardinals baseball team played and won a shutout game against the Rosetown A's 7-0.

Tricia and the Toonies were the grand finale of Hampton Community Days, entertaining area youth with their environmental show filled with songs and laughter; carrying the message of "recycling."

The weather was perfect and the weekend was well attended by both the young and the old. A good time was had by all.

Organizers extend their gratitude to all the businesses and to all of the volunteers who helped make this year a success and to everyone who came out and took part in Hampton Community Days 2014.

Hampton Community Days is held annually the third weekend in June. Next year's event begins the weekend of Friday, June 19, 2015.
