Cannon Falls city administrator Aaron Reeves has been hired by the city of Rochester to take over their position of city clerk.
Reeves said his final day in Cannon Falls will be January 17 and he will start in Rochester January 21.
Reeves started in Cannon Falls in February of 2008. The clerk position is a department head position that is responsible for elections, licensing, some parts of assessments, local ordinances, city records and council resolutions and ordinances.
Reeves, who lives in Rochester with his wife and has children in the Rochester schools, called it an interesting position and a good career move for him. He called it a good move for him financially as well.
"I've enjoyed working in Cannon Falls," said Reeves. "We have a great council and really good staff that made my job easy and enjoyable.
"I've been lucky to work with the council and staff that has moved forward a number of big projects, including the new interchange and hospital," said Reeves. "Cannon Falls has a lot of great new business expansions and more coming. The city is perceived well by other cities and agencies. I think there will be a good pool of applicants for my job."
