Michael "Sully" Sullivan of Cannon Falls emerged the victor as he battled Josh Erdmann of Rochester for Relentless Productions Muay Thai Fighting middleweight championship. The contest was held on November 27 at the Northfield Ballroom.
The "Elite Fight Night II" included six preliminary matchups, the co-main event welterweight championship for five rounds, and concluded with the main event for middleweight championship, also five rounds, in front of approximately 200 enthusiasts.
With a third round knock-out, Sullivan won the event giving him six wins out of his seven matches. After the match, Sullivan said, "Josh was a very tough opponent."
Justan Duden, also of Cannon Falls, is Sullivan's trainer and served as his cornerman. "He's my first champion," said Duden as he expressed delight at Sully's performance.
Sullivan will travel to Bankok, Thailand, for the month of January, 2014, to continue his training and to develop advanced skills in the discipline of Muay Thai in the land where it all began.
