10/31/2013 1:47:00 PM Bank robbery suspects were in CF ravine
Cannon Falls Police responded to a report of a van crashed in a ravine at the end of a dead-end lane in Riverside Terrace at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23.
A male and female at the scene were suspected of drunk driving, but Cannon Falls police were unable to determine which suspect was driving, as both claimed to be passenger and both claimed to be driver.
The van was impounded. The two were taken to detox and released with no charges the next day.
On late Thursday/early Friday, Cannon Falls Police Chief Jeff McCormick says a Cannon Falls resident who had seen the drunken driving suspects recognized one from a picture being publicized about suspects in a TCF bank robbery from a Cub in Blaine at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23. He contacted the FBI and later CF Police with his information.
The impounded blue van matched up with the description of the bank robbers get-away vehicle. It has been turned over to Blaine Police who have issued a warrant for a 35-year-old Shawna Marie Pearson of St. Paul. A white male in his forties is also a suspect. - Ken Haggerty
