10/31/2013 1:45:00 PM Rotary Gala to feature sizzlin' horns, hot vocals
Reservations are still being accepted for the annual Cannon Falls Rotary Club Foundation Gala Dinner Dance & Auction, which again this year will feature the sizzling sounds of Brass Menagerie for attendees' listening and dancing pleasure.
A new location has been selected for this year's Gala, which will be held on Saturday, November 16, at Treasure Island Resort & Casino. Festivities begin with a social hour and silent auction at 5:30 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Following dinner, there will be a live auction featuring a number of exciting bidding options. Dancing to the hot sounds of Brass Menagerie will round out this fun evening.
Brass Menagerie is a 10-piece stage band from Minneapolis/St. Paul featuring the special talents of Patrick Coyle, one of the busiest performers in the Twin Cities area. Coyle sings and leads the band through generations of music - everything from the hot swing beats of the 40s and 50s to the early years of rock & roll, plus a large assortment of tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s through today. Brass Menagerie wowed last year's Rotary Club Gala audience and will be making its third appearance at the local Rotary's annual fundraising event.
Each year, the Gala is the activity that allows the Cannon Falls Rotary Club Foundation to fund local projects and support important causes in the area. Proceeds from the 2013 Gala will be utilized to support activities and organizations such as the Rotary Exchange Student program, the Packing for the Weekend food supplement program for Cannon Falls families with school-age children, Cannon Falls Schools, Randolph Schools, Cannon Falls Education Foundation, Feed My Starving Children, Cannon Valley Trail, Cannon Falls Veterans Memorial, Shepherd's Center of Cannon Falls, Cannon River Watershed Partnership and the Cannon Falls Library Foundation.
Anybody in the Cannon Falls area community is welcome to attend the Rotary Gala. For more information or to reserve seating, you may contact Cannon Falls Rotary Club President Joe Coyle at 507-263-8513, or Club Treasurer Jim Bowen at 507-951-3130.
