Reservations are now being accepted for the ninth annual fundraising Gala of the Cannon Falls Rotary Club Foundation.
This year's Gala is on Saturday, November 16, and for the first time, the Rotary Gala will be held at Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
A silent auction and social hour begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:45 and will be followed by a live auction and dancing to the sizzling sounds of Brass Menagerie.
Each year, the Gala is the activity that allows the Cannon Falls Rotary Club Foundation to fund local projects and support important causes in the area.
Proceeds from the 2013 Gala will be utilized to support activities and organizations such as the Rotary Exchange Student program, the Packing for the Weekend food supplement program for Cannon Falls families with school-age children, Cannon Falls Schools, Randolph Schools, Cannon Falls Education Foundation, Feed My Starving Children, Cannon Valley Trail, Cannon Falls Veterans Memorial, Shepherd's Center of Cannon Falls, Cannon River Watershed Partnership, the Cannon Falls Library Foundation, and Mayo Clinic Health System in Cannon Falls.
With the move of the event to Treasure Island Resort & Casino, discounted room rates have been arranged at the Resort hotel for lodging the night of the event.
For the third straight year, the dancing portion of the evening will feature live entertainment provided by Brass Menagerie, an eight-piece band out of the Twin Cities that plays everything from hot swing to good old rock-n-roll.
