The Cannon Falls Nelson-Scofield VFW Post 4452 Auxiliary is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 5, from 1 to 7 p.m., at St. Pius V Catholic Church.
Persons receiving tattoos in the state of MN are now eligible to donate, with no waiting period. Sixteen year old donors must have a signed parent consent form every time they donate until the age of seventeen. Consent forms are available in the high school office, or at the registration table the day of the drive.
Double Red Cell donors must wait 112 days between donations, and have an O negative, O positive, A negative, or B negative blood type. Whole blood donors must wait 56 days between donations, and can have any blood type.
A Red Cross blood donor card, or driver's license, must be presented when donating. If a donor has eligibility questions due to medications, health issues, or travel, etc, they can call 1-866-236-3276 for answers.
To make an appointment, call: 1-800-Red Cross, or go online at: www.redcrossblood.org. Appointments can also be made by calling Karen at: 507-263-4526. Walk-in donors are always welcomed.
