2/28/2013 11:12:00 AM VFW Loyalty Day royalty announced
The Cannon Falls Nelson-Scofield VFW Post 4452 and Auxiliary held their annual Loyalty Day Queen contest on Sunday afternoon, February 24.
The judges were Bob Hjermstad (judges' moderator), and past Post 4452 Commander; Lin Johnson, a member of the Cannon Falls VFW Auxiliary, and retired Cannon Falls VFW bar manager; Laurie Dale, a member of the Kenyon VFW Auxiliary, who will be the Department of Minnesota Auxiliary President next year; and Julie Odette, a member of the Northfield Auxiliary, who will be the First District Auxiliary President next year.
Also assisting with the contest were: Becky Remme, Angi Lee, Rachel Lee, Karen Lindberg, Duane Hermanson, Curtis Hermanson, and Karianne Hermanson. Rachel Lee, the 2009 Loyalty Day Queen First Runner-up, presented the awards. All four contestants attend Cannon Falls High School. There were no entries from Randolph High School this year.
Erica Berg, a senior, was named the 2013 VFW 4452 Loyalty Day Queen. She is the daughter of Mark and Tammy Berg. Erica received a tiara, sash, and a $100.00 scholarship check.
Callie Loeschke, a freshman, was named First Runner-up. She is the daughter of Chad and Heather Loeschke. Callie received a trophy, sash, and a $75.00 scholarship check.
Cassandra Dulek, a senior, was named Second Runner-up. She is the daughter of Lewis and Bridget Dulek. Cassandra received a trophy, sash, and a $50.00 scholarship check.
Angie Fredrickson, a senior, received consolation honors. She is the daughter of Jill Fredrickson. Angie received a $25.00 scholarship check.
Erica, Callie, and Cassandra will be invited to represent VFW Post 4452 and Auxiliary in the Cannon Falls Memorial Day and 4th of July parades.
